LonTrend IR illminator supports 740 nm/850 nm/940 nm. In most of the video surveillance applications, 850 nm is the default option because image sensors take this wavelength. However depends on solution type, different wavelengths would be required. For instances, ANPR system frequently projects 740 nm light because license plats reflect better for this wavelength range, and their camera is also customized to sense red light. 940 nm is invisible for human eye; therefore very suitable for projects where invisibility is the most important concern, such as boarder surveillance or defense security control. However, normal digital camera might not be sensitive to this wavelength, to guarantee satisfactory result, it is more recommeded to perform an on-site testing and test different projection distance, angle and wavelength to find the best solution.
