According to LonTrend product numbering rule: -R refers to IR illuminator, -W refers to white light. The selection depends on your applications. In general, if your illuminator is served as the lighting source for human eye or special ANPR project cases, the white light would be selected for most of the situations. However for 850 nm CCD/CMOS surveillance camera, the red light (IR illuminator) is suggested.
