The front glass construction of thermal camera housing is the most important point which makes it different from normal camera housing with a transparent glass. By changing the transparent front glass of our standard housings in two ways, LonTrend provides more flexibility to help customers to build their own thermal solutions fulfilling various project requirements.
First Solution: Camera housing with Germanium Glass
The first way is to replace the standard glass with Germanium glass based on the required material, diameter and thickness.
Second Solution: Camera housing with front window plate
If your thermal camera is a ready-to-use outdoor solution, and what you require is only a robust housing without Germanium glass, you can consider our second solution which is to make a customized front window plate with a small hole in the middle for the vision of your thermal cameras. This front window construction is usually suggested when your thermal camera lens is rated at weather-proof protection level. The small hole which is designed according to your lens diameter will fit perfectly with your lens. Because the lens will directly face to the environment, to intensify the waterproof regulation of the total system, LonTrend will make a weatherproof ring for you to put around the hole to prevent water from entering into the housing.

In a governmental metro station project, LTEV01 IP68 die-cast aluminum housing with customized front window plate and weatherproof ring supports Pelco thermal cameras to monitor the safety of the passengers. In this project, LTPM03 light-duty pan tilt positioner also plays a role to help LTEV01 enlarge its surveillance area. - Industrial Monitoring in High Ambient Temperature Environment
In a steel making plant project, LTES08 IP66 stainless steel water-cooling camera housing with Germanium glass is used to support Axis thermal cameras to observe the state of steel overflowing from the boiler. In this project, LTES08 is not only designed as a thermal solution, but also as a water-cooling solution to protect thermal cameras from the impact of high ambient temperature, therefore ensure the efficient work of cameras. - Industrial Monitoring for the Measurement of High Temperature
In Baltic electronic industries project, LTSX02 Explosion Proof Pan Tilt System with both customized front window plate and Germanium glass supports FLIR thermal camera to detect and measure the temperature in the factory from a high position. Actually, LTSX02 is an upgraded model of its forefather LTEX17, explosion proof standard box housing. Owing to the limitation of installation site, LonTrend combines LTEX17 with a pan & tilt positioner which qualifies the total solution as a ceiling mount pan tilt systems. Because this solution needs to monitor from a high place, pan & tilt ranges of LTSX02 are also modified to fulfill special project requirements. - Industrial Monitoring in Explosive Harsh Environment
In an oil & gas project, LTSX04 Explosion Proof Double Side Load Pan & Tilt System, which is equipped with vision camera and thermal camera on each side, monitors the temperature during the production to assure employees’ safety.
